National Nutrition Month 2026Spring is just around the corner, which means it’s time to celebrate National Nutrition Month®, an annual campaign established in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Every March, this public health initiative highlights the role that food and fitness play in leading happy, healthy lives. This year’s theme, “Discover the Power of Nutrition,” invites everyone to learn about making informed food choices and physical activity habits.

How can you get involved in National Nutrition Month® 2026 and encourage others to do the same?

  1. At WORK: Host a "lunch and learn" session on healthy eating: Share tips, swap recipes, and favorite snack combos with coworkers to help your workplace stay fueled and ready to take on the day.
  2. At HOME: Commit to trying a new fruit or vegetable each week: What better time to get creative? Try a fun new fruit for dessert, or try a new recipe centered around a vegetable that you tend to avoid. Make it fun as a family!
  3. Help reduce food waste: Read up on how to safely store leftovers, produce, and other foods to make the most of your grocery shopping trips, keep more options prepped and ready, and reduce wasted food.
  4. Plan to eat more meals together with others during March: Eating with our loved ones is one of the best ways to center wellness in our lives, physically and socially. Pledge to gather your family, friends, or roommates once a week to plan, cook and share more meals together in March!

Many Eat Right nutrition tip sheets are available as part of the official campaign, including:

  • 20 Ways to Enjoy More Fruits and Vegetables
  • Eating Right on a Budget
  • Feel Good with Food Safety
  • Healthy Eating on the Run
  • Smart Tips for Successful Meals

Thoughtful food choices, family meals, and physical activity can help all of us stay energized to do the things we love most and show up for our community, and that starts at the table. This March, discover all of the delicious ways you can stay on track by celebrating National Nutrition Month®.
