Thinking About Risk & Safety
In recent years, food retailers have confronted a surge in workplace safety challenges driven by rising in-store incidents, increased customer aggression and the operational complexity of managing high-traffic environments. The new Safety Track will dive into the latest strategies for enhancing frontline safety training and integrating smarter store-level risk mitigation tools. Sessions may explore trends such as best de-escalation practices, advances in in-aisle monitoring technology, OSHA compliance updates, emergency response planning and the growing role of cross-department collaboration in creating safer grocery environments. This track is designed for leaders looking to strengthen safety culture while protecting both teams and shoppers.
Considering Cyber
Cyber threats in the food industry are escalating, with attackers targeting everything from POS systems and e-commerce platforms to warehouse automation and supplier networks. With grocery operations increasingly digitized, a Cybersecurity Track will address the newest wave of risks, including ransomware targeting retail systems, AI-powered fraud attempts and vulnerabilities in IoT devices powering modern stores. Expected session topics include strengthening cyber hygiene across the enterprise, protecting consumer data, navigating emerging regulatory expectations, building incident-response resilience and partnering effectively with IT and supply chain teams to secure end-to-end operations. This track brings together experts focused on safeguarding the digital backbone of the food industry.
We look forward to welcoming these two new communities to this year’s event and our continued opportunities to collaborate on industry guidelines that keep everyone safe and ensure the shelves stay stocked.
