Registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), nutrition scientists, and other health professionals work with companies that represent the entire food industry, improving the lives of customers, employees and communities everywhere. They listen to consumer needs, support science-based messaging, and share a common goal to guide Americans of all ages and backgrounds to make and have access to safe, nutritious, enjoyable foods and beverages.
Increasingly, registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) across the food industry hold strategic leadership positions, as noted in the Food Industry Contributions to Health & Well-being 2024 report. They play critical and transformative roles in food, nutrition and healthcare, adding value to programs, products and the future.
The wide array of positions held by credible nutrition experts reaches far and wide, impacting many areas to include product development and reformulation, food as medicine programs, regulatory and labeling compliance, digital merchandising, consumer education, personalized counseling, in-store signage and employee wellness.
RDNs working in the food industry have the unique ability to bridge science, public health, community nutrition and healthcare, which positions them as natural leaders of strategic programs designed to improve hunger, nutrition and health.
This new video features positive insights from key RDNs in strategic roles across the industry.
