FMI Welcomes White House Announcement on Food System Conference

Arlington, VA – Today, FMI – The Food Industry Association applauds President Biden’s announcement on the White House hosting a conference this September to examine the state of hunger, nutrition and health in the United States and explore actions the federal government as well as non-profit and private sector stakeholders can take to increase healthy eating and reduce hunger among the American public.

FMI President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin made the following statement regarding the White House announcement:

“FMI is pleased the Biden administration recognizes the importance of addressing nutrition and hunger to support all Americans in achieving their health and well-being goals and to increase access to nutritious foods in underserved communities. We look forward to bringing the food industry together to discuss appropriate actions our members can take to improve the health and nutrition of our customers and reduce hunger in communities across the country, and we welcome the opportunity to work with the Biden administration to identify additional ways our industry can be helpful and productive in achieving those goals.”
