FMI Redesigns Food Retail’s Premier Event

AUGUST 22, 2013 – ARLINGTON, VA – The leading trade association for the food retail industry, Food Marketing Institute (FMI), recently redesigned its annual event in order to forecast the future of food retailing. FMI’s newly reformatted tradeshow, FMI Connect, will offer attendees a global food retail experience June 10-13, 2014.

FMI has long-served the food retail industry’s need for idea-sharing, training, products and solutions, and after extensive member interviews, research and an executive-level commitment, FMI planned an event around the experience of the show-goer, responding to the biggest changes grocery executives will see in the industry over the next decade. Imperative to the success of food retailers’ businesses, FMI Connect will provide solutions to equipping food retailers and wholesalers with the resources they need to feed families and enrich lives.

FMI Connect will defy the senses and tradition by exploring trends, tastes and technologies. While the tradeshow experience will focus on the entire store, the brick and mortar approach to business will be reinvented by an increasingly more digitally-enabled, mobile shopper.

“The food retail industry is filled with innovative leaders who see challenges as an opportunity to blaze new paths,” said Leslie G. Sarasin, FMI president and CEO, “FMI Connect will be a festival of inspirational thinking where challenges will be confronted creatively, imaginations can run wild and possibilities for the future will be openly embraced.”
