Peters will continue to work closely with the FMI executive team to develop and direct strategy related to these core areas of FMI’s mission in support of the FMI membership.

Previously, Peters served as FMI’s vice president for marketing and communications. She has 21 years of communications, marketing and public affairs experience in corporate, agency, association and nonprofit organizations.
Prior to joining FMI, Peters served as president and CEO of www.myownbusiness.org, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide. She was director, corporate communications, and spokesperson for The Walt Disney Company at corporate headquarters in Burbank, CA, where she handled high profile corporate and crisis issues and represented the company’s top executives to media worldwide. Peters worked as executive vice president, network affairs for Channel One Network in New York, where she directed the company’s public affairs strategy. Peters managed comprehensive public affairs campaigns as an Account Supervisor with Washington, DC-based Powell Tate.
Earlier, she worked at UNESCO’s (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Paris headquarters and was selected for participation in European Union leadership and fellowship programs sponsored by the British Council, the Financial Times and the London School of Economics.
She has provided extensive pro bono public affairs work to nonprofit organizations, including the National Race for the Cure and the Leukemia Society. Peters earned an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA from James Madison University.
