On December 29, 2010, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) published in the Federal Register for comment a proposed rule which would revise the regulations for hours of service (HOS) for drivers of property-carrying commercial motor vehicles (the “Proposed Rule).1 The Proposed Rule changes the restart period and contemplates reducing maximum driving hours among other things.
