Feeding America Round Up

Company : The Fresh Market
Program category : Food Insecurity

Origins:

Since 2018, The Fresh Market has proudly partnered with Feeding America® to help fight hunger in local communities. Each year, we host two register Round Up campaigns: one in September for Hunger Action Month and another during November and December for the holiday season. During these events, guests are invited to round up their purchases at checkout to support hunger relief. Ninety percent of the funds raised at each store go directly to that store’s local Feeding America food bank partner, while the remaining ten percent supports Feeding America’s national efforts.

Contribution:

On all of our Round Ups, the funds collected by a store, 90% of it directly benefits that store’s local Feeding America food bank partner. The remaining 10% goes to Feeding America.

Objectives:

To raise awareness of food insecurity and to empower guests and team members to take meaningful action to help end hunger in our local communities.

Impact:

In 2024, TFM raised $160,407 = more than 1.6 million meals* during Hunger Action Month and an additional $183,079 from November to December. Additionally, The Fresh Market's 170+ stores donated 3,118,861 pounds of food to Feeding America partnered agencies throughout 2024.

Quote:

“At The Fresh Market, we understand the impact a meal can make. That’s why we believe it is our responsibility to support our local communities and help increase access to food for those who need it. We are proud to partner with Feeding America and support their mission to End Hunger.”

- Brian Johnson, CEO
