Preparing for the Arrival of Gene Edited Food Products: Part One (On-Demand Recording)
Format:
Digital
FMI Members - $0.00
Description:
To date, the limited number of gene edited food products have mostly been available through food service entities. The gene-edited food environment is about to change. Plans are in place for other food products to be available to the public in a matter of weeks. It is reasonable to expect that the marketplace introduction of new foods taking advantage of gene editing technology will attract more media attention and public interest in this new breeding technique, so it would be advisable for food retailers to determine their dispositions toward carrying gene-edited food products and to prepare their responses to anticipated customer inquiries.
This recording is the first in a two-part series for FMI members anticipating the public introduction of gene edited products. This first event features knowledgeable representatives from Corteva Agriscience, Pairwise, and Benson Hill who discuss the regulatory climate regarding gene edited foods, the status of new gene edited products in development, what crop development companies are doing to address the consumer expectation for transparency, and how retailers can help with shopper acceptance.
This two-part series is also available as a Product Bundle: https://www.fmi.org/forms/store/ProductFormPublic/GeneEditedFoodProducts2023
